(taxes and fees included)Extended Reality (XR) is becoming increasingly recognized as a powerful vehicle for storytelling yet it faces major obstacles in widespread adoption, from the lack of proven business models to the hefty price tags on VR headsets. What does a reality look like where everyone owns a headset, and is that truly desirable?
Distribution and development experts from the National Film Board of Canada, PHI, Atlas V, Les 7 Doigts and Xn Quebec will challenge and reimagine the meaning of distribution within XR to explore new forms of dissemination that prioritize accessibility and education, from engaging with cultural institutions to building bridges with public facilities. The session will go further by imagining ideas for the creation of a regional, national or transatlantic distribution circuit to crystalize these frameworks.
